Alzheimer’s Research & Therapy is newly affiliated to Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI), the international federation of national Alzheimer organisations.
ADI provides a global voice for dementia, empowering national Alzheimer associations to promote and offer services and support for people with dementia and their carers. ADI works globally to focus attention on the Alzheimer’s epidemic, by hosting an annual conference and campaigning for policy change from governments and the World Health Organisation (WHO). For example, ADI commission a number of World Alzheimer Reports and were involved in the recently launched report Dementia: A Public Health Priority by the WHO. Alzheimer’s Research & Therapy shares ADI’s common goal of making dementia a global health priority and a number of the journal’s Editorial Board members are part of ADI’s medical and scientific advisory panel.
As a major forum for translational research into Alzheimer’s dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases, Alzheimer’s Research & Therapy, is dedicated to publishing international peer-reviewed articles at the forefront of scientific breakthroughs in this field. 28th International Conference of ADI
‘Dementia: Action for Global Change’ is the theme of the 28th International Conference of ADI, held in Taipei, Taiwan on 18-20 April 2013.
This unique conference provides the opportunity for medical professionals, experts in dementia care, researchers, family carers, people living with dementia and national Alzheimer associations from across the globe to meet.
The latest developments in diagnosis and treatment, improvements in the quality of care, approaches to building a dementia friendly community, and solving the difficulties and differences in policy around the world will be discussed. The conference will also be an opportunity to focus on the care and management of people with dementia in the Asian-Sino region.
