World Allergy Organization Journal is now open access

World Allergy Organization Journal (WAO Journal) has published its first open access articles with BioMed Central today.

As the official Journal of the World Allergy Organization, the journal will publish WAO position papers, statements and guidelines, along with original research, clinical reviews and epidemiological studies that contribute to current knowledge in patient care.

The articles published today include an Editorial from Editor-in-Chief, Dr Lanny Rosenwasser, looking back at the last 5 years of the journal and towards the future. Dr Rosenwasser says: “This recent move to open access publishing reinforces the vision of the WAO Journal as a fully accessible authoritative resource for allergists, immunologists and all medical professionals interested in the field.”

Also published in WAO Journal today is a case report describing what is thought to be the first report of aquagenic urticaria in monozygotic twins, and a WAO position statement on the biodiversity hypothesis and allergic disease.

The full five years of previous articles published in the journal will be available via the journal website later this month, so bookmark the homepage and come back to check out the journal archives.

WAO Journal is the latest journal to join BioMed Central’s growing allergy portfolio. Make sure that you stay up to date with latest articles and news in the field by updating your interests to include “Allergy” and sign up to receive WAO Journal article alerts.
