I’ve also seen casualties from preventing babies from being born prematurely, by trying to stop labour that has naturally started, only to have the baby born dead, or nearly dead about one to two days later. It is massively traumatic for the mother as well and I never understand why the clinicians don’t want to allow the baby to be born. Having been born significantly prematurely myself, by caesarian, and being absolutely fine although I had quite a long stint in hospital initially, I find this new idea heartbreaking.
