Dieter Slos, Lewis Stevens, Mark Blaxter & Wim Bert

Dieter Slos is an assistant under supervision of Prof. Wim Bert at the Department Biology at Ghent University. His research interests mainly focus on the taxonomy and the ecology of nematodes from mushrooms and the evolution spermatogenesis of nematodes within the order Rhabditida.

Lewis Stevens is a PhD student at the Institute of Evolutionary Biology at the University of Edinburgh. His research interests focus on using next-generation sequencing and novel bioinformatic approaches to investigate patterns of eukayotic genomic evolution, with a focus on Caenorhabditis nematodes.

Mark Blaxter is Professor of Evolutionary Genomics in the Institute of Evolutionary Biology at the University of Edinburgh. His research group uses large scale genomic data to explore deep phylogeny and the dynamics of the evolution of novelty, mostly in animals.

Wim Bert is Professor in the Department Biology at Ghent University and is responsible for the research group Nematology and the International Master of Science in Agro- and Environmental Nematology. His research group integrates a tradition of light-microscopy and ultrastructural morphology with molecular approaches in the field of taxonomy, phylogeny, morphology, and biology of nematodes from natural and agricultural ecosystems.
